POKOTABI / PLACES WORTH A DETOUR
阿倍野だんご本舗深江橋店
The signature Abeno dango are small dumplings generously coated in kinako, and visitors note that you can buy just one skewer. Kinako pudding also gets a mention. Here’s what to know about the Fukae-bashi branch’s menu and opening hours.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Each skewer of Abeno dango holds 5 small dumplings, generously coated in kinako, or roasted soybean flour. It’s the first thing to try here. One visitor describes them as gently sweet, letting the flavour of the kinako come through. They also received extra kinako on the side, so you can add more to taste.
Some visitors say you can buy a single skewer, making these an easy choice when you fancy just a little something sweet or want a treat to take home for tea. Kinako pudding is another option; one diner remembers its smooth texture. The menu also lists hon-warabi mochi, a bracken-starch confection.
The Fukae-bashi branch is open daily from 10 to 18. One visitor noted that it’s near the station entrance and sells individual skewers, making it a convenient place to pick up a snack when travelling on the Chūō Line.
